Republic Act No. 11056 " PUP-Sablayan Campus Act".

An Act Establishing a Campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in the Municipality of Sablayan, Province of Occidental Mindoro to Be Known as the PUP-Sablayan Campus, and Appropriating Funds Therefor


Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:


Section 1. Short Title. - This Act shall be known as the " PUP-Sablayan Campus Act".


Section 2. There is hereby established a campus of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in the Municipality of Sablayan, Province of Occidental Mindoro to be known as the PUP-Sablayan Campus.


Section 3. The PUP-Sablayan shall offer graduate, undergraduate and short-term, technical-vocational courses within its areas of specialization and according to its capabilities, as the Board Regents may deem necessary to carry out its objectives, particularly to meet the needs of the province and the MIMAROPA Region.


The PUP-Sablayan Campus is also mandated to undertake research and extension services, and to provide progressive leadership in these areas, including the offering of graduate degrees under the PUP Open University System.


Section 4. The PUP-Sablayan Campus shall be headed by Campus Administrator who shall renderfull-time service and who shall be appointed/designated by the Board of Regents (BOR) upon the recommendation of the search committee and the President, subject to the guidelines, qualifications and standards set by the BOR.


Section 5. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of the Act be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.


Section 6. If, for any reason, any part or provision of this Act is declared invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected thereby shall remain in full force and effect.


Section 7. All laws, presidential decrees, executive orders rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.


Section 8. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspapers of general circulation.

This Act which is a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 1103 and House Bill No. 6915 was passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives on May 21, 2018 respectively.
