PROCLAMATION NO. 224, May 16, 2023

DECLARING THURSDAY, 15 JUNE 2023, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF ANGELES, PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20th century, caused massive destruction and adversely affected the City of Angeles and the lives of its residents;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and the resilience of the Angeleños, the Office of the Mayor requested that 15 June 2023 be declared a special (non-working) day in Angeles City;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Angeles be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR.,    do hereby declare Thursday, 15 June 2023, a special (non-working) day in the City of Angeles, Province of Pampanga.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
