Executive Order No. 90, April 1, 2002

DECLARING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND OWNED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS LOCATED IN SAN VICENTE, BULAN, SORSOGON AS SOCIALIZED HOUSING SITE AND PROVIDING FOR ITS DISPOSITION TO BONAFIDE OCCUPANTS THEREON

WHEREAS, it is the governments policy to regularize the housing and land tenure of homeless and underprivileged Filipinos;

WHEREAS, such policy is effected, among others, through disposition of government lands suitable for socialized housing to occupants thereof; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and Highways owns a parcel of land located in San Vicente, Bulan, Sorsogon identified as Lot No. 3, Psu-76906, covered under TCT No. T-7218, with an area of 134,660 square meters, more or less, and occupied by approximately 700 underprivileged families, which lot has been identified as suitable for socialized housing purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. The parcel of land owned by the Department of Public Works and Highways located in San Vicente, Bulan, Sorsogon identified as Lot No. 3, Psu-76906, covered under TCT No. T-7218, with an area of 134,660 square meters, more or less and occupied by approximately 700 underprivileged families, is hereby declared as socialized housing site.

Section 2. The Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, as the lead agency and the Department of Public Works and Highways, Municipal Government of Bulan, Sorsogon, and Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor shall facilitate the disposition of said parcels of land to actual occupants upon determination of the just value of the land and adoption of a rationalized and cost-recoverable scheme.

Section 3. In the event any provision hereof is declared invalid by any competent court or tribunal, the other provisions hereof unaffected thereby shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 4. This Order shall take effect immediately.
