EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 828, August 17, 2009

DECLARING AND DELINEATING THE ABRA DE ILOG PORT ZONE UNDER THE ADMINISTRATIVE JURISDICTION OF THE PHILIPPINE PORTS AUTHORITY (PPA)


WHEREAS, the Port of Abra de Ilog, Barangay Lumangbayan, Municipality of Abra de Ilog, Province of Occidental Mindoro, has been considered by its local government units and the PPA for port development;


WHEREAS, the development of the said port will promote rapid development of the areas concerned through improved trade, commerce, and tourism activities;


WHEREAS, the port zone delineation, which has a total area of 1,550.527.50 square meters is necessary to establish the territorial jurisdiction of the Abra de Ilog Port to accommodate its future development and to accelerate the development of the existing seaport currently serving the northern gateway of Occidental Mindoro;


NOW, THEREFORE I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue or the power vested in me by law, do hereby order;


Section 1. The territorial jurisdiction of the Port of Abra de Ilog, Barangay Lumangbayan, Municipality of Abra de Ilog, Province of Occidental Mindoro, is hereby delineated and established, particularly described as follows:


Beginning at point marked 1 on the plan, thence to point 2 at a distance of 220,00m. with bearing N 71 °30' E, thence to point3 at a distance of 220,00m with bearing N 42°00' E, thence to point4 at a distance of 1,200.00m, with bearing N 18° 10' W, thence to point-5 at a distance of l,355.00m. with bearing S 71°30' w; thence to point 6 at a distance of1/152.00m. with bearing S 26 :’59’ E, thence to point 1, the point of the beginning at a distance of 800.00m with bearing N 83°00' E, the total area comprising of 1,550,527.50 square meters, more or less.


Section 2. The Abra de Ilog Port Zone, as delineated and established above, is hereby placed under the administration of the Philippine Ports Authority, which shall, consistent with the regional industrial plans of the Government, implement a program for the proper zoning, planning, development, and utilization of the port.


Section 3. Other orders, proclamations, and issuances, or portions thereof, which are inconsistent with this Executive Order, are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.


Section 4. This Order shall take effect immediately after its publication in a national newspaper of general circulation.
