AUTHORIZING THE INSTITUTE OF NUTRITION TO CONDUCT RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATIONS IN THE APPLIED SCIENCE OF FOOD AND NUTRITION AND IN OTHER ACTIVITIES TOWARDS EFFECTIVE IMPROVEMENT OF NUTRITION IN THE PHILIPPINES

In order to attain a more effective improvement of the level of nutrition of the people of the Philippines, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Institute of Nutrition to conduct researches and investigations in the applied science of food and nutrition, and to engage in other activities tending to bring about the amelioration of the nutrition of the masses of our people, in addition to the powers and functions vested in said institute by existing law.

Done in the City of Manila, this 25th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-nine, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the third.
